The Government of Navarra has communicated to the union representatives in the General Public Function Board its willingness to progress with dialogue and consensus on a new Personal Statute, aimed at achieving a more effective, efficient, modern, and adapted Administration of the Foral Community of Navarra to the reality of the 21st century.
This was announced by the Director General of Public Function, Rashid Mohamed, to the union organizations with representation in the General Public Function Board – LAB, AFAPNA, CCOO, ELA, and UGT – which took place late this morning at the Palacio de Navarra.
Addressing the development of a new Public Function Statute is one of the governmental commitments for this term, as the current one has been in force for over 30 years, dating back to 1993.
The regional government believes that, as a guarantor of the interests and rights of the Navarran citizens, it must strive to advance towards an administration that adapts to the new times and provides better public services. With a constant willingness to dialogue to reach a consensus, the Government of Navarra opens a new negotiation phase to understand the demands regarding labor and salary conditions of the public function unions, which must be aligned with the modernization and efficiency of the Foral Community of Navarra’s Administration that the regional government aims for.
To achieve this goal, the Government of Navarra will conduct a survey among all the Departments that compose it, which will have to submit to the Department of Interior, Public Function, and Justice, in charge of coordinating them, their specific proposals to modernize the Administration and provide excellent public service to the citizens.
Regulatory Update to Continue Reducing Temporality in the Administration
Through Law 20/2021, of December 28, on urgent measures for reducing temporality in public employment in the Public Administrations of Navarra, the Government of Navarra carried out 388 selection processes, stabilizing 3,548 temporary job positions.
With the aim of continuing in this line of reducing temporality in public employment, during the General Public Function Board, the representatives of the regional Administration have presented to the unions a proposal for regulatory modifications, providing the Public Administrations of Navarra with legal tools and mechanisms to advance towards this objective.
