On this occasion, after the jury selected the ten finalist works, the registered population in Pamplona had thirteen days to vote for the image that they believed best represented the Sanfermines. From April 20th to May 2nd, a total of 6,242 votes were cast, through the website, the phone number 010, and in person at the polling stations set up in the city’s Civivox centers. The number is similar to those recorded in the years before the pandemic, except for 2019, when participation surged due to the participation of a work from an educational center in the contest. Precisely to not influence participation, anonymity of the works was required throughout the process, until today, when the winning poster is announced.
As usual, the most used method for voting was the municipal website, where 3,945 valid votes out of 6,242 received were registered, that is, 63.2%. In-person voting at Civivox centers amounted to 2,182, 34.9%. On the other hand, a total of 115 votes were cast through 010, representing 1.8% of the valid votes received.
In the final count, the public’s preference for three of the presented works is evident. ‘Instante’ has garnered the majority of votes, to the extent that three out of ten votes were for this work. In second place is poster number 1, titled ‘204 horas’ by Alfredo León Mañú, with 1,551 votes, 24.9%. In third place is poster number 2, titled ‘Nueve letras, nueve días, nueve emblemas’ by Martín Lasaga Cortés, with 897 votes, 14.4%.
The rest of the posters have received less than 10% of popular support. In this regard, the fourth position went to poster number 3, ‘Chupinazo,’ by Sergio Santesteban Martinez, which received 465 votes (7.5%). The fifth-highest voted poster is number 7, ‘Kiliki-ki,’ by Alvaro Sesma Telleria, with 436 (6.9%). The remaining votes went to number 5, ‘Seguimos,’ José María Chow Casas, with 349 votes (5.6%); number 6, ‘Euforia,’ Edurne Tainta Balda, with 278 votes (4.5%); number 4, ‘El color del año,’ Andrea Vigor Velasco, with 159 votes (2.6%); number 10, ‘Tipazo,’ by Antoni Pontí Ibars, with 102 votes (1.6%); and number 9, ‘Los vanguardistas,’ by Christian Garrido Álvarez, with 92 votes received (1.5%).
